With a standard Sommer operator (Base+), you need a minimum ceiling clearance equal to the door's travel (max. 2750mm) + 81mm for the operator/control unit. Don't have that space? Then you can use the Pro+ or Tiga+ operator. These have the minimum dimensions: 2750mm travel + 58mm for the carriage.

Using this connector and the lowered hardware bracket (part number Sommer #3122V000), it's possible to shorten the ceiling clearance even further by connecting the drawbar not at the back of the carriage, but at the front. This shortens the operator's installation length even further, resulting in an excess length (compared to the maximum travel of 2750mm) of 550mm.
